Home to Amazing Residents
And they’re off! Todd and Ashlie Martin, residents of The Preserve and keen outdoor enthusiasts, took part in Season 35 of The Amazing Race and proudly represented the engaging spirit of their community while racing around the world.
So why does this outdoorsy couple love living at The Preserve? It isn’t hard to see how the adventurous spirit that led them to this global venture found its footing at The Preserve, a community that emphasizes a good time through amenities beyond imagination and a nature-based location that remains unrivaled.
In the couple’s own words, The Preserve is centrally located between all the different counties, from Orange County and LA County to San Bernardino County and Riverside County. As a family, the Martins love hiking Chino Hills, Prado Regional Park and Pumpkin Rock Trail.
Afternoons spent at popular destinations like Big Bear, Arrowhead and nearby beaches like Newport are also a family favorite—and they’re so close to home at The Preserve!
“There’s so much to do and we like to be as active as possible with the kids…Before the race, we went rock climbing in Riverside,” says Ashlie.
Todd and Ashlie have called The Preserve at Chino home since 2012, and it was The Preserve’s wholesome feel and proximity to a great school that caught their eye.
“The Preserve felt like a close, tight-knit community, and that’s what sold us.”
Beyond a community that feels like home, the amenities keep the Martins endlessly entertained. Todd has a special place in his heart for the gym:
“Clubs and amenities are great here. I got to cancel my gym membership because I use the one here.”
The couple also admits to using the pool daily in the summer and indulging in the spa three times a week. The pickleball courts, recently the site of a family competition over Easter, are a big hit and the pool and barbecue areas set the scene for their son’s 12th birthday party. To this day, it remains his favorite birthday party ever!
“It’s just a great little area to enjoy your family and have good family time,” says Todd.
Plus, with Stater Bro’s and Town Center at the Preserve on-site, Todd and Ashlie look forward to effortless grocery trips, plus all the extra shopping and dining options.
According to Ashlie, the family is excited “to be able to hop on a bike and grab dinner. That is going to be so incredible!”
After all is said and done, Todd sums it up beautifully:
“The reason why we think The Preserve is the best place to live in the area is because of the community. The community feel is great, you get to know everyone around you. That, and the amenities here.”
“The community feels like home. It’s family-friendly, it’s pet-friendly and you can’t beat it,” concludes Ashlie.
